How to Change Your Password

Last updated: 2026-01-15

Overview

Maintaining a strong, regularly updated password is essential to safeguarding your Arkante account and the financial data associated with it. We recommend changing your password at least once every 90 days and whenever you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

This guide walks you through the process of updating your password from within your account settings.

Password Requirements

Before setting a new password, please ensure it meets the following criteria:

  • Minimum length: 12 characters
  • Character diversity: Must include at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one numeric digit, and one special character (e.g., !, @, #, $, %)
  • No reuse: Your new password cannot match any of your last five passwords
  • No personal information: Avoid using your name, email address, date of birth, or other easily guessable information

Passwords that do not satisfy these requirements will be rejected during the update process.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps to change your password:

  1. Sign in to your Arkante account at auth.arkante.com. You will be redirected to your portal at my.arkante.com.
  2. Navigate to Settings by selecting the gear icon in the top-right corner of the dashboard.
  3. Select the Security tab from the left-hand navigation menu.
  4. Under the Password section, click Change Password.
  5. Enter your current password in the Current Password field.
  6. Enter your new password in the New Password field.
  7. Re-enter your new password in the Confirm New Password field.
  8. Click Update Password to save your changes.

Upon successful completion, you will receive a confirmation email at the address associated with your account. If you have two-factor authentication enabled, you may be prompted to verify your identity before the change takes effect.

Security Recommendations

To maintain the highest level of account security, we recommend the following best practices:

  • Use a password manager: A reputable password manager can generate and store complex passwords securely, reducing the risk of weak or reused credentials.
  • Enable two-factor authentication: Adding a second layer of verification significantly reduces the likelihood of unauthorized access. Refer to our Two-Factor Authentication guide for setup instructions.
  • Monitor account activity: Regularly review your login history under Settings > Security > Recent Activity to identify any suspicious sessions.
  • Avoid public networks: Refrain from changing your password or accessing sensitive account information while connected to unsecured public Wi-Fi networks.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues while attempting to change your password, consider the following solutions:

  • “Current password is incorrect” error: Verify that you are entering your existing password correctly. If you have forgotten your current password, use the Reset Forgotten Password process instead.
  • “Password does not meet requirements” error: Review the password requirements listed above and ensure your new password satisfies all criteria.
  • Confirmation email not received: Check your spam or junk folder. If the email does not appear within 15 minutes, contact our support team for assistance.
  • Session expired during password change: For security purposes, sessions may expire after a period of inactivity. Sign in again and repeat the process.
  • Account locked after multiple failed attempts: If your account is temporarily locked due to repeated incorrect password entries, wait 30 minutes before attempting again or contact support for immediate assistance.

If the issue persists after trying these steps, please reach out to our support team through the Contact Us page or via email at [email protected].
